Established in 2005

We are a Detroit brand. We are proud to be from a city where Motown, the Temptations, the Supremes, Marvin Gaye, and Aretha Franklin come from and where the White Stripes, Eminem, and Kid Rock cut their teeth. We are more than just a t-shirt company. We proudly represent the Motor City, and we love this place.

Meet the Men Behind Ink Detroit

Paul Marcial and Steven Mansour created Ink Detroit in 2005. As partners, they firmly believe that Detroit will someday once again be the Paris of the Midwest.

Meet Paul

Paul started selling t-shirts out of his art class as a sophomore in High School. Using an airbrush and stencils, he created designs that kept students coming back for more--all while earning credit in Mr. Hakalas' class. He eventually went to MCC to study art, graphic design, and printing technology. In the early 2000s, Paul bought a four-color silk screen press with his roommates. After a couple of years of fun and creativity, Paul's roommates moved on to other fields. Still, he wanted to capitalize on the success flowing in their direction. Paul knew the perfect guy to partner with. He was a family friend who had a background in apparel retail and who he had worked with on a local art gallery project in Royal Oak called ROAM. Paul reached out to Steve Mansour in late 2004, and by 2005, Ink was established.

Meet Steve

From an early age, Steve embraced the value of hard work that his father instilled in him. From overseeing the operations of the retail family business specializing in leather and fur to managing his own successful mortgage firm, Steve consistently has used integrity and resolve as his compass. But Steve's passion for style & large-scale production always lingered near the surface.

After reconnecting with Paul and starting Ink Detroit in 2005, the duo launched the Ink Detroit online store in 2009, recognizing the consumer trend of shopping for t-shirts online. The rest is history.
